Narratives is a local-first personal AI assistant for conversations, memory, planning, and everyday reflection.

Get help

If you have a question, found a bug, or want to request a feature, open a support request on GitHub.

When reporting a problem, please include:

your iPhone model and iOS version;
the Narratives app version;
a short description of what happened and what you expected;
diagnostic logs exported from Narratives Settings, if relevant and safe to share.

Please remove personal conversations, contact information, and other sensitive data before sharing screenshots or logs publicly.

Common questions

Where is my data stored?

Narratives stores conversations, summaries, saved memories, schedules, and preferences locally on your device. The language model also runs on your device. Optional tools may contact an external service only when you request information such as weather or reference material.

Can I move my data to another device?

Yes. Use the export option in Narratives Settings to create a backup, then import that backup on the other device. Backups may contain personal information, so store and transfer them securely.

Can I inspect or delete saved memory?

Yes. Narratives Settings lets you review and clear saved facts and memory entities. Your conversations and other app data remain separate unless you explicitly remove them.

Why does the AI model download after installation?

Narratives uses an Apple-hosted asset pack for its on-device language model. The app can finish installing while Apple downloads the model separately. Availability and timing depend on the device and network connection.
